You open the gallery, pick a category and an image. It’s made of empty squares, and each one has a number. At the bottom of the screen there’s a palette: you choose a color and fill in all the squares with that number. When the numbers are gone, the gray grid turns into a colorful pixel picture. Numicolor works the same way, with images sorted by themes and difficulty levels.
Why there are three ways to zoom in
The squares are tiny, so it’s hard to tap the right one with your finger. That’s why you can zoom in three ways at once: with the slider at the top of the screen, with a two-finger pinch on touchscreens, or with the mouse wheel on a computer. Denser pictures are easier to color section by section by zooming in on the area you need.
Boosters and image difficulty
The images vary in difficulty: some have just a dozen squares of the same color, while others are dense grids with lots of shades. To save you from clicking every square by hand, the game includes boosters — helper tools that speed up coloring. The same format with a huge library of pictures is offered by Pixel Art Color by Numbers.
The game is built with Unity and runs in your browser on a computer, phone, or tablet. Both screen orientations are supported, portrait and landscape. The interface is available in English only.
